A Story Around One Photograph is a project with young Russian-speaking migrants who live in Munich, Germany. The young people were offered to choose one photograph from their family archive and describe it. There were stories of close relatives, distant countries and times long gone. In the end, we produced an exhibition together and incorporated various objects significant to their stories.
This project was commissioned by the Munich’s Russian Cultural Centre GOROD. I was responsible for curation, design, production and final set-up of the exhibition. Together with the poet and linguist Alya Haitlina we conducted several workshops dedicated to story-telling and writing skills, as well as exhibition production and visual composition.
