This illustration is a reaction to a piece written by Angel and depicts London’s southern suburb Croydon. To me, this place is defined by the contrast between the flawless middle-class interior propagated by IKEA in Croydon and the actual poor life conditions of the local people.

It is part of the 100 Word Pilgrimage project – an exhibition by Beddow ‘n Battini art collective which is touring all around London this year. Every artwork is connected to Aurasma and visitors interact with the pictures in different venues. Through Aurausma we explore means of interactive storytelling. This project is driven by a collaboration between illustrators, creative writers and animators.
